How It Works
At the heart of the self-centering design is a scroll-plate (or scroll gear mechanism) — a spiral groove cut inside the vise body. The jaws are mounted radially around the chuck and connected to this scroll. When you turn the vise-key (or clamp handle), the scroll rotates, causing all jaws to move radially inward or outward in unison. The result: the workpiece is automatically aligned along the centre axis without manual fiddling of individual jaws.

This ensures high repeatability: once the workpiece is placed and clamped, it remains concentric — which is especially beneficial for timed machining tasks or batch production where speed and precision matter.
